Restaurant Fook Seng  @ Slim River

On the way north to Ipoh, the towns we passed by are not very well populated. Eateries are small. While they are quite well accepted by the locals and the food served by them more than acceptable, but variety of choices is nothing like what we are exposed to in urban Kuala Limpur.

For small group the one or niche offerings suffice but for larger group we should be contended with the run of the mill type of cokkings

1. Fook Seng very authentic Cantonese style cooking

2 Though it is  short street and with limted shop house. It was rather difficult to recognise the junction to turn in from the fast moving busy Trunk Road.

Here is a good example of food - a niche stew Pork Knuckle and 2 mundane dishes

The bean sprout very well done - strong fragrance with no traces of slate fish clumps

Yes, another niche serving! The steamed herbal chicken

Free ranching chicken - too much food for four by rural standards. Proprietor pre-empted that I may need to take some home

Simply put, a change in taste is always a welcoming move to make an essential stop get that exhilarating feeling of having eaten once more in Slim River.
